The FZS600 Fazer is a huge favourite amongst the middleweight sports bikes and has been one of the biggest success stories of the nineties for Yamaha. The combination of a high performance liquid cooled engine and stiff chassis coupled with high specification brakes and suspension have made it a champion.

One of today's all round proficient machines content to be used for sports riding or touring.

The liquid cooled 599cc engine offers instant response and outstanding acceleration, with 95bhp on tap has loads of power, six-speed gearbox to keep the motor spinning, it just begs to be thrashed everywhere. It has a half fairing, grab rail and U-lock storage for when it needs to be used in a more sensible fashion. Steering is smooth and precise and the brakes are just outstanding.

Larger 20-litre fuel tank gives a bigger range than last years model (up 10%). Instruments include a clock and twin trip meters. Hazard warning lights are now standard.

Hard to fault this bike at under £5000 (UK) a real hooligans machine.

The “S” version has a racier paint job, but costs the same as the base model, so choice is down to which style you prefer.
