Triumph Tiger Green

Looking for something a bit different? The new 2001 Triumph Tiger is certainly not your average motorcycle. It’s powerful, strong, very quick and with its aggressive styling will certainly turn heads faster than your average sports bike. Whether you want to tour, go half way round the world or just for getting through the harsh reality of urban traffic to get to work in the morning, the versatility of the Tiger will fit the bill.

Engine is a 955cc, 3 cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected motor with 12 valves making 104 bhp and transmission is 6-speed chain drive.

It’s enduro styling, with the high upright seating position gives most riders a comfortable pose and an excellent view of the surrounding traffic. The seat height is adjustable from 33.1 inches (840mm) to 33.8 inches (860mm) to suit most people.

24 litre fuel capacity and a comfortable dual seat means longer distance can be travelled before refilling and should prove ample for most touring needs. Stainless exhaust pipes and balance box are fitted with a bash plate, and coupled with the hand protection shields and fork gaiters, gives the Triumph its “off road” appearance.

Twin discs on the front and single on the back, all with two pot calipers takes care of the stopping. Front brakes are fitted with stainless braided hoses.

Instruments include, digital speedometer and clock, odometer and trip meter, tachometer, temperature and fuel gauges, with lights warning for, oil pressure, main beam, indicators, neutral and low fuel. Hazard warnings lights are standard.

The new Tiger’s styling is making it popular in Europe courtesy of those who dare to be different.
