If you still think scooters are noisy creatures that keep you awake at night with their howling exhaust note, time to think again.
Honda, among other manufacturers, have changed the way people think about scooters, by making them into very user friendly packages, more refined and quiet, cleaner and more comfortable than they ever were before.
Hondas Silver Wing is one such scooter, if you can call it that. Its specification would not be out of place in any modern motorcycle brochure. The twin cylinder DOHC engine is almost 600cc, liquid cooled, fuel-injected, boasting computer controlled digital electronic ignition and has enough power, acceleration and weather protection to carry rider and passenger wherever they want to go. Starting is electric and transmission is taken care of by a V-Matic belt drive, which requires little maintenance.
The large 16-litre fuel tank means less stops for fill-ups. The instruments are clear, easy to read and comprehensive.
Useful storage is provided with two compartments in the fairing and a huge area under the seat. All in all a very useful and well put together scooter, ideal for the longer commute to work as well as that extra long journey on the weekends.
Available in Silver, Red and Blue.
