The Valkyrie's 1520cc flat 6-cylinder engine is taken from the Gold Wing, but tuned more for torque and roll-on acceleration. It makes for effortless cruising, and long distance comfort. Very smooth but still retaining that powerful character of a true custom bike.
The gearbox is a smooth changing 5-speed close ratio unit, with 5th being an overdrive. Transmission is silky smooth shaft drive, which is maintenance free helping to keep the bike's chrome clear of any traces of oil. Transmission is fed by an hydraulic clutch.
The electrics have plenty of reserve power for all the accessories you might need. A 546-watt alternator charges the battery. The engine also has screw and lock nut valve clearances to help reduce the time spent on servicing, and maintenance costs.
Brakes are dual front and single rear discs gripped by twin pot calipers. Fuel tank holds 5.3 gallons of unleaded. Seat is a two-piece custom styled with detachable passenger section and rear backrest.
Instruments are white faced and enclosed in chrome cases. Indicators are push to cancel.
The Valkyrie or F6C , like the Gold Wing is made in USA.
Soon to become 1800cc with an alloy frame in 2003 if Honda have their way.
